Asare Bediako suspected to be a decoy for Wontumi

ASARE BEDIAKO’S dream of being elected as the next Ashanti Regional New Patriotic Party (NPP) chairman has suffered a jolt.

This is because several NPP members in the region have raised doubts about his genuine intentions of contesting for the position.

Most of the NPP members in the region are alleging that Asare Bediako is in the party chairmanship race for strategic and personal reasons that would not be in the larger interest of the elephant family.

According to some of them they have reason to believe Asare Bediako is lackey of Bernard Antwi Boadiako aka ‘Wontumi’, the incumbent NPP Ashanti Regional Chairman.

They have therefore alleged that Asare Bediako only wants to join the race so as to help Wontumi’s agenda and to frustrate other genuine contestants.

The NPP members, who declined to state their identities, predicted that Asare Bediako would surely step down and throw his support for Wontumi.

They recounted how Asare Bediako adopted the same diabolic strategy to protect Wontumi four years ago when NPP elected its regional executives.

According to them, Asare Bediako has such a track record therefore no genuine NPP member in the region consider him as a serious candidate now.

Asare Bediako in 2018, picked forms to contest Wontumi for the same Ashanti Regional NPP chairmanship position.

Asare Bediako initially campaigned vigorously but he stepped down at the eleventh hour under bizarre circumstances for Wontumi to go unopposed.

It was later rumoured that Asare Bediako, all along, was in bed with Wontumi so he entered the race to prevent others from doing so to protect Wontumi.

Meanwhile, the NPP Ashanti Regional elections of party executives is scheduled for late May 2022.
