FRANCIS ASENSO-Boakye, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate (PC) for Bantama, has supported 30 shoemakers in the constituency.
He has teamed up with the National Board for Small Scale Industries (NBSSI) to offer a free educational training to the beneficiaries, who were each given a certificate.
The shoemakers, who were randomly selected from the eight electoral areas in Bantama Constituency, were tutored in Entrepreneurship and Financial Literacy.
Asenso-Boakye, who is a Deputy Chief of Staff at the Presidency, presented the modern equipment to the beneficiaries to help them to improve on their delivery at work.
The equipment he donated includes 30 Bench Grinder, 30 Punch Plier, 30 Hammer and 30 Scissors, which are all very expensive and important tools for shoemakers.
Asenso-Boakye, in his remarks, said he realized that a lot of shoemakers in Bantama lacked essential working tools and managerial skills to make more money from their toil.
He noted that as a son of Bantama, he decided to intervene so that the shoemakers would get the required knowledge upgrade and tools to become more productive.
Asenso-Boakye said the timely donation would not be a nine-day, promising to support the beneficiaries with cash to expand their work should they use the tools properly.
“I know that the NBSSI is committed to developing small businesses so I contacted them to team up with me to support Bantama shoemakers to make them efficient”, he said.
Mr. Kofi Boakye, a Shoemaker at Bantama, who was among the beneficiaries, showered tons of praises on Asenso-Boakye for being a caring and development-oriented leader.
