The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) has retrieved the body of a 13-year-old boy who drowned on Sunday, 14 April 2019.
The retrieval was done during an assessment tour by NADMO after Sunday night’s heavy downpour which killed seven people in various parts of the national capital that got flooded.
The teenager drowned while swimming with five of his peers at the dam site at Ashaiman Lebanon just before the rains poured but none of the survivors spoke of the incident until Monday.
The Ashaiman Divisional Council had to perform certain rituals before the body was retrieved from the dam.
NADMO said it will ensure the place is disinfected to ensure the safety of the locals.
