ROAD ACCIDENT statistics in the Ashanti Region is not getting better, the police have openly lamented.
Supt Emmanuel Adu Boahen, the Ashanti Regional MTTD Commander, said accidents keeps increasing.
According to the police capo, the Ashanti Region virtually records a road accident case on a daily basis.
Supt Adu Boahen, who was speaking on Akoma FM, could not readily provide statistics to support his case.
“Ashanti Regional road accident statists seems be getting worse and worse and it is not good for the region.
“It’s unfortunate I done have the figures with me now to share with the public”, the police officer noted.
“We have reports of accidents every day. It is getting too much and is not encouraging”, he lamented.
Supt Adu Boahen admonished drivers to be extra careful when it rains as the road becomes very slippery.
“When it rains check your break, lighting and wiping system so you will not crash your car”, he said.
Supt Adu Boahen said police are planning to sack drivers operating at unapproved places in Kumasi soon.
