A MODERN Fire Service Station, being constructed in the Asokore Mampong Municipality, is rapidly nearing completion.
The project, the first of its kind in the municipality which was carved out of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assemby (KMA), is 85 percent completed according to site engineers.
Alhaji Alidu Seidu, the Asokore Mampong Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), is the brain behind the modern fire service station in his municipality.
According to him, the fire station is being constructed at a location in Asokore Mampong, the capital of the Asokore Mampong Municipality.
Alidu Seidu is also the 2020 New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Asawase.
According to him, the Asokokre Mampong Municipality does not have a fire station and so residents are compelled to rely on other areas for support.
As a result of the absence of a fire station, he lamented that several properties have been lost due to fire outbreaks in the Asokore Mampong Municipality.
He told The New Publisher that as a proactive leader, he decided to construct the fire station so that fire outbreaks in the area could be dealt with.
The Asokore Mampong MCE said ideally the fire station project was to be completed in September 2020 but the completion date may delay a bit.
“The Coronavirus, which has hit the country lately, has delayed works a bit but hopefully the fire station would be completed this year”, he assured.
