Asokore Residents Want Contractor Arrested …over bad roads

THE MAIN road that links Sawaba to Asokore Mampong Township, in the Asokore Mampong Municipality, is virtually in ruins now.

The road was constructed less than two years ago by the erstwhile John Dramani Mahama-led National Democratic Congress (NDC) government, but has surprisingly, developed deep and scary potholes all over, which can easily cause serious road crashes, if not taken care of as soon as possible.

Some drivers that spoke to the paper complained that it has become very dangerous to drive on the Sawaba to Asokore Mampong road, and claimed they suspected that the contractor must have done a shoddy work, considering the fact that the road was reconstructed in 2016.

They, therefore, entreated government to arrest the contractor without delay, and order him/her to return to site and fix all the damaged portions on the road at his/her cost.

This, they said, could serve as a deterrent to all other contractors across the country to do quality work.
