ASOKWA MCE LEADS CLEANUP EXERCISE
A MAJOR CLEANUP exercise has taken place in the Asokwa Municipality, to help beautify the place and get rid of preventable diseases.
The exercise, which was led by the MCE for Asokwa, Hon. Akwanuassah Gyimah, was undertaken by two groups.
One group cleared choked gutters from the Kumasi Brewery Limited (KBL) area, while the other group did same from the Atonsu Agogo Hospital direction.
The two groups finally assembled at the High School Junction where excavators were used to clear a pile of garbage from a big stream.
Addressing the media after the exercise, Hon. Gyimah said he and his constituents were determined to make the president’s vision of making Ghana the cleanest in West Africa a reality.
According to him, he was extremely happy about the massive patronage that the exercise enjoyed, and promised to sustain the programme.
The MCE used the opportunity to caution residents of Asokwa to stop throwing garbage at unapproved areas in their own interest.
