Assibey Antwi Markets K’si To Burkinabe Team
Osei Assibey Antwi, the Mayor of Kumasi, has described Kumasi as one of the most fertile areas in Ghana for legitimate businesses to thrive, and has therefore called on investors, both local and foreign, to take advantage of this in their future business considerations.
Speaking to a business delegation from Burkina Faso, the Chief Executive of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) said considering the proximity between Ghana and Burkina Faso, any investment in Kumasi is likely to yield maximum profit to both parties.
He noted that, before now, a number of Burkinabe businessmen and women had been making huge profits by trading with Ghanaian businessmen in vegetable, meat and sandals.
He said other areas like tourism, sports, agriculture and several others, remain profitable for every investor to take advantage of.
Osei Assibey said this when Roland Pierre Beouinde, the Mayor of Ouagadougou, led a 23-man delegation to visit him in his office in Kumasi on Saturday.
The visit was intended to enable Kumasi and Ouagadougou find new ways to further improve their existing ties.
The two leaders also talked about what the two countries can do to help improve security between them.
Touching on the environment, Antwi said the KMA had already launched a programme to make Kumasi look green and beautiful by planting different species of trees at various places.
Roland Pierre Beouinde, on his part, said his country is ready to hire some Ghanaians in the medical field to offer their services to Burkinabes in the near future.
