Vying for the Vice-President seat are Graphic Showbiz columnist, Francis Doku and broadcaster/writer Livingstone Lotsu.
Mic Yamoah of Flex newspaper, Frank Kwabena Owusu of Hitz FM, are seeking election as Secretary and Treasurer, respectively.
While ghanacreativearts.com’s Mustapha Inusah and Flex newspaper’s Isaac Kwaku Kpogeh battle it out for the organizer position, Citi FM’s Kwame Dadzie and peacefmonline.com’s Eugene Osarfo-Nkansah lock duels for the Public Relations Officer position.
The rest of the candidates are David Mawuli of Pulse.com.gh and Vivian Abigail Oppong, a student of Ghana Institute of Journalism who are contesting for the position of Research Officer.
The candidates were shortlisted by a Vetting Committee comprising Broadcaster and Tourism advocate, Gilbert Aggrey (Abeiku Santana), Johnnie Beresford Hughes also a broadcaster and Doreen Avio, a presenter and arts writer.
ATWAG is an association for arts and tourism writers in Ghana. It was formed about 10 years ago but has suffered several hiccups in its growth.
The forthcoming election is one of the plans taken by the interim leaders to revive the association and give it better footing.
Chairperson of the Election Committee, Arnold Asamoah-Baidoo has urged all registered members of ATWAG to participate in the process to select the best candidates to run the Association.
