Avoid exes and female besties – Rita Edochie warns married men

Seasoned Nigerian actress, Rita Edochie has voiced her strong opposition to married men maintaining close relationships with their exes or female friends.

She asserts that a married man’s only female best friend should be his wife, arguing that if he values his friendship with an ex, he should have stayed with her.

Edochie cautioned single women who consider themselves best friends to married men, suggesting they are likely to become side chicks.

She emphasized the importance of moving on and focusing on one’s spouse after a breakup, highlighting the need for clear boundaries in marital relationships.

In a passionate Instagram post written in pidgin, she expressed her frustration: “The next thing now una go begin tok second wife matter. As a married man, you are busy keeping female besties. Your ex for that matter. If I talk now una go say Ijele you dey worry. Imagine going back to your vomit. If you love and value your relationship with your ex a lot, why didn’t you end up with her? Why drop her, call her your ex, marry an entirely different woman, and then go back to relate with that same ex while still married?”

Edochie further questioned the emotional toll such relationships could impose on the wives. “Have you thought about the mental and emotional stress it imposes on the women you lawfully wed? Hmmmm. Just hmmm,” she stated.

She also emphasized that “goat and yam no dey stay together,” criticizing the notion of having a female bestie or personal assistant. Edochie firmly stated, “As a married man, your only female bestie should be your wife.”

She added that single women claiming to be besties with married men are deceiving themselves, as being alone with a married man could lead to inappropriate behavior. “Stop deceiving yourselves.

When she becomes your ex, move on and focus on your wife,” she concluded, expressing her anger at the situation.
