Boxing legend Azumah Nelson will square off against EU Ambassador to Ghana, Irchad Razaaly, on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra as part of the EU Month celebrations.
The event, titled “Diplo-Rumble: Empowering Youth Through Sports,” aims to showcase local boxing talent and promote youth empowerment through sports.
“The European Union Delegation to Ghana is proud to announce a series of events that will highlight the importance of youth and skills development in the European Union-Ghana partnership,” said Mr Razaaly, EU Ambassador to Ghana.
EU Ambassador Razaaly highlighted the importance of youth and skills development in the EU-Ghana partnership.
Other activities include a partnership dialogue on May 6, chaired by Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia .
This dialogue will involve ambassadors of EU member states accredited to Ghana, with representatives of some government institutions like the Ministry of Finance (MoF), and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration (MFARI).
The dialogue will address topics such as trade, security, and sustainable development to strengthen Ghana-EU relations.
Additionally, there will be the annual Europe Day Reception on May 9 at the EU Ambassador’s Residence, known as one of Accra’s largest diplomatic gatherings.
