The Brong Ahafo Regional Police Command is probing circumstances surrounding an attempt by a middle-aged man who posed as a soldier to influence recruitment of some personnel into the Prisons Service.
According to the police, after interrogation of the suspect it has emerged that he was in possession of a variety of recruitment forms related to state security agencies.
Speaking to Class News on the development on Thursday 14 June 2018, Public Relations Officer for the Brong Ahafo Regional Police, Chief Inspector Kingsley Augustine Oppong indicated that the said imposter, Kofi Hota, a resident of Techiman, has since been remanded by the courts pending further investigations.
“He told us that he is actually not a military man,” the police said, adding “we got a bayonet…and a lot of WAEC certificates belonging to people that we do not yet know. Then he was having all the enlistment forms of our sister security organisations that is Prisons, Fire, Immigration and others so we decided to send him to court remand him properly for us to delve into our investigations,” the PRO explained.
