Bad Prayers Can’t Stop Free SHS ─ Nana Jabs Critics
PRESIDENT NANA Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has once again reiterated that the free Senior High School (SHS) Policy will survive despite fiendish attempts by some people to cripple it.
The president said he was aware that some people were trying with all their might, including saying bad prayers, to collapse his flagship policy. But sounding extremely confident, Nana said that all the diabolic attempts by some politicians to collapse the programme would not work.
“I know people have been mounting political platforms, speaking on radio and television, putting posts on social media platforms, hoping and praying for the free SHS policy to collapse.
“We know those who have a history of scrapping pro-poor policies like the teacher and nursing trainee allowance. I wish to assure them that the free SHS has come to stay”, the president noted.
President Nana Akufo-Addo was speaking during the 60th anniversary celebration of Kumasi Academy Senior High School (KUMACA) in the Asokore Mampong Municipality in the Ashanti region on Saturday.
Alluding that the saboteurs are just wasting their time, the president stressed that he would not scrap the policy no matter how hard the doom Sayers try.
“The free SHS will help us to get an educated human resource, who would be the main engineers in our quest to develop as a great country. Therefore, I will make sure that this positive policy stays”, he assured.
The president said aside being the main tool towards ensuring rapid and proper national growth an educated human resource would live acceptable lifestyles that would minimize the spread of diseases.
Education Minister, Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh who is also the Member of Parliament (MP) for Manhyia South constituency, and other dignitaries, were present at the historic function.
