VICE PRESIDENT Dr. Bawumia has thanked the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, for supporting him to win the Special Delegates Conference of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to reduce the candidates aspiring to be elected as the Party’s flag-bearer from ten to 5.
“I’m here to offer my thanks and gratitude to the Asantehene for his prayers and support which helped me to win the NPP Special Delegates polls
“Before the election, I was here and I appealed to Otumfuo to support with his prayers so that I can win the election and indeed I have won the election.
“I can’t stay in Accra after this sweet electoral victory and that’s why I’m here today to thank Otumfuo for his support”, Dr. Bawumia declared.
The Vice President was speaking during a grand Akwasidae festival, which was held at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi on Sunday afternoon.
According to him, his political career continues to progress mainly because of the support and prayers of Otumfuo, whom he described as his father.
“Thank you Otumfuo for your support and kindness to me”, the Vice President said, adding that he can’t find words to describe how he cherishes Otumfuo.
Dr. Bawumia also appealed passionately to the Asantehene to continue to support him so that he (Bawumia) would become NPP flagbearer for 2024.
“Otumfuo, please the main election is on November 4, 2023 and I’m again appealing for your blessing and support so that I will win that election as well.
“I know that with Otumfuo’s active support I will win that election as well”, the Vice President, who sounded elated and confident, boldly predicted.
Dr. Bawumia said he was expecting the Asantehene bless him and also show him direction, with regards to what he should do to win the November 4 polls.
