VICE PRESIDENT Dr. Bawumia certainly became a blessing to the inmates of the Kumasi Children’s Home, in the Ashanti Region, on Saturday.
The Second Gentleman of the land made a huge presentation to the home, which boasts of about 90 orphans, to mark his 60th birthday on earth.
He presented 100 bags of rice, 50 bags of sugar, 50 packs of diapers, 50 packs of toilet rolls and 100 packs of powdered detergents to the home.
Dr. Bawumia’s presentation also includes 10 boxes of tinned tomatoes, 200 cartons of milk and quantities of cooking oil, among other precious items.
The vice president and his wife, after the presentation, spent some quality time to interact and laugh with the children, who looked excited.
Dr. Bawumia is noted for spending his birthdays with the vulnerable in society. His 60th birthday happened in Kumasi so he visited the orphans.
According to him, it is a good thing for the affluent in society to remember and care for the vulnerable so that they too would enjoy life just like anybody.
Dr. Bawumia stated emphatically that his resolve to support the vulnerable in society, especially on his birthdays, would not be nine day wonder.
According to the vice President, he would continue to support the needy in society to have better lives, urging others to also support those in need.
Dr. Bawumia, earlier on, had separated prayer sessions with Muslim and Christian leaders in Kumasi and other parts of the Ashanti Region.
The prayer sessions, which were held in camera, according to sources, mainly centered on God’s protection and blessing for the Vice President.
They also prayed fervently to God (Allah) to grant every wish and heart desire of Dr. Bawumia, whom they referred to as a humble and patriotic leader.
