We all go through weak moments in our lives. That is not any reason for you to run out of church. If a brother is going through a period of weakness, your part is to strengthen him.
That is what the book of Proverbs 27:17 is conveying when it declares, “Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.” Our job is to strengthen one another.
God made a promise to Abraham in Genesis 12:2: “And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing” He was talking to a man who had no child and was 75 years old. This man was at the midnight of his life.
By faith Abraham obeyed. He went with Lot and we all know what happened. But at a point, doubt set in, just like any one of us.
You may ask if I have ever doubted. Yes! On many occasions! I still have occasions to doubt till today. Without doubt, there will be no belief. So, don’t beat yourself because you doubted, it is part of our journey through life.
In this journey of faith, we all are still learning so don’t run down somebody because he is not yet where you are. The Church is a laundry. If the laundry stops having dirty clothes, it will close down. So don’t expect everyone to be at your level. We must be patient with one another.
James 5:16 says, ‘we should confess our faults one to another that we may be healed.’ Why did he say so? The reason is that; now, I may be down, probably I may have forgotten who I am in Christ, but you are still standing strong.
Then you that is spiritual should remind me and say to me: “Don’t beat yourself! You are still the righteousness of God. God still loves you. Don’t run away from God.” You encourage me back to my feet so that I can be healed.
