The Benji-season is approaching faster than we thought as the ‘2 Sure’ hitmaker speaks exclusively to The New Publisher on his soon-to-be-released banger.
The last time we heard from Quabena Benji was when he released ‘Adiepena’, a song that featured one of the country’s great songwriters and singer, Kofi Kinaata. But, fortunately for highlife music lovers, the singer is dressing up for a New Year’s Eve party as he bounces back big.
The ladies’ favourite singer didn’t give much details on the coming song but said he has a surprise package coming in few days and that the public should anticipate. He disclosed he’s been hit with a lot of artist crises in the last two to five years and that has contributed to his delay in releasing and promoting his songs.
“I can tell you for a fact that I have lots of great highlife songs on the coming album than most of the songs we hear everyday but I had a lot of crises with promotion and shooting videos for my songs and this has really affected my progress in the last two years. It has been very challenging releasing and promoting my own songs but I have not been out of the music scene as some perceived. I have been working on projects for some other top artist,” he revealed.
The singer continued: “Music is a big investment now and one has to be financially prepared to hit the road for a progressive music business. But thank God I am back on my feet and there’s a lot under my sleeves for my fans. Highlife music lovers should anticipate”.
Quabena Benji in what the public will call “low key” years have been working and contributed to hit songs like Donzy’s ‘Crusade’ featuring Kofi Kinaata, Sarkodie’s ‘Wakeup call’ and ‘Long Distance’, Mzbel’s Fakye, ‘Nyame Ay3 Bi’ from Ramz Nic featuring Guru among others.
He’s now known not only as a singer and a composer but a producer with an ultra modern studio in his home office as well.
