The Diocesan Bishop of Methodist Church Ghana Winneba Diocese Rt Rev Dr John K Buabeng -Odoom has appealed to government to consider completing abandoned projects in the country.
According to him, all Presidents who inherited uncompleted projects on assuming office abandoned them which is affecting the country’s development.
Every government, he says fail to complete projects started by their predecessors leading to wastage of public funds with many unable to benefit from such projects.
He indicated that there are a lot of school, roads,hospitals and many more which would need to be completed to bring relieve to Ghanaians and that the new government shouldn’t repeat the mistakes of the past hence completing such projects
Governance he added is a matter of continuity and leaders should do just that for the country to have value for money from initiatives so that the people benefit from them.
Speaking to Eagle fm Nana Sankah at 110th Anniversary and the Dedication of Emmanuel Methodist Chapel at Gomoa Potsin ,Bishop Buabeng admonished the churches not to relent in providing assistance to their members as many need serious help even in the church .
The help,he says will bring about improvement in the wellbeing of the people. The Paramount Chief of Gomoa Akyempim Traditional Area Obinifo Ahor Ahunako Ankobea II thanked the Methodist church for their contribution in the area.
One problem he says is affecting the the area now is Teenage Pregnancy and that a lot of students in the area have gotten pregnant . He made a fervent appeal to parents to help in revamping the fallen standard of education in the district through proper upbringing resulting in a decrease in the pregnancy rate in the area
