Ghana’s Black Queens will face Morocco in an international friendly this month as they prepare for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Newly appointed head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren will lead the team for the first time when they play at the Pere Jego Stadium in Casablanca on Friday, February 21.
The match is one of two scheduled preparatory fixtures for the senior national team during the February 2025 women’s international match window. Bjorkegren, who took over from Nora Häuptle in January, aims to guide the Black Queens to a strong WAFCON campaign.
The tournament begins on July 5 in Morocco, where Ghana will compete in Group C alongside South Africa, Mali, and Tanzania. With this friendly, the Black Queens seek to fine-tune their squad and strategy ahead of the continental showdown.
