The Black Stars are busy preparing for their round of 16 match against Tunisia today, Monday, July 8 at the Ismailia Stadium.
Ghana are yet to taste defeat in the hands of Tunisia in any AFCON tournament and they are optimistic of keeping that the record intact.
Coach Kwesi Appiah ahead of the match said, he is expecting a difficult but entertaining game against Tunisia.
“I think tomorrow’s game is going to be very entertaining, both teams are really strong. I have always said that I have total respect for every team that came for this tournament.
“Tunisia is not a team anyone can just walk over so we have to work hard to give everyone a good game,” Appiah said at the pre-match press conference.
Meanwhile Ghana center back, Jonathan Mensah, has declared himself fit to play today’s encounter.
The Columbus Crew defender injured himself in Ghana’s 0-0 draw against Cameroon during the group stages.
He subsequently missed the Black Stars’ 2-0 win over Guinea Bissau in their last Group F encounter.
“I feel very good now. I’m getting better and better now. I leave it for the head coach and the medical team to decide but I’ve been communicating with the medical staff about how I feel but everything is fine,” he said.
The winner of Ghana vrs Tunisia match will face the winner of Madagascar vrs Dr Congo in the quarter-finals.
