Blackmail Plot Flops… As Agenda ‘Get Osei-Ameyaw’ Out Thickens

A well-financed desperate conspiracy to create and hang a ‘perception of corruption’ on the Nana Akufo-Addo led-government is in full swing and some of the President’s key appointees, have been targeted as victims that would be smeared with allegations of corruption through a manipulative and fierce ‘trial-by-media’.

Key on the list is the Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta, Chief Executive of COCOBOD Joseph Boahen Aidoo, Deputy Chief of Staff Samuel Abu Jinapor, Trade Minister Alan Kyeremanten and Director General of the National Lotteries Authority (NLA), Kofi Osei Ameyaw who has moles from his outfit manufacturing fictional allegations and leaking same to journalists as though they were authentic.

Within the week, a supposed bank statement of the NLA was passed around media circles with the collusion of some peeved elements at the Authority with a bizarre story that Osei-Ameyaw had used a credit card of the Authority to purchase a box of jewelry for the First Lady, Rebecca Akufo-Addo.

The idea is to throw the nasty story out in the public domain, set an agenda for it to become a topical issue, get particular anti-corruption organizations to pick it up and call on the President sack the NLA boss and to order a probe into it the allegation.

In the Month of March, 2018, credible signals are that there would be a series of ‘corruption watch seminars’, press conferences, civil society agitations and a vibrant trial-by-media against the person of Kofi Osei-Ameyaw with the single aim of getting him out of the NLA.

It has turned out that the said bank statement is one hundred percent absolute fiction as an original true copy of the NLA’s bank statement printed on the bank’s letter head with the requisite stamps and signatures sighted by THE PUBLISHER has no such information whatsoever on the purchase of jewelry.

There has been no debit for such a transaction.

THE PUBLISHER gathered that this is not the first of such documents supposedly emanating from the NLA is raising eyebrows in media circles.

The strategy has been to put out authentic documents that have nothing criminal or untoward and them mix them with some fabricated documents that contain fictional evidence of corruption.

Documents from the NLA’s inner chamber in media circles are mostly those from the procurement and finance departments.

Another document that has turned out to be fiction is one which says Kofi Osei-Ameyaw had forged the signatures of his predecessors so as to backdate contracts and that the issue was raised at a Board Meeting.

Meanwhile none of the Board meeting minutes captured the supposed subject.

Strangely, Kofi Osei Ameyaw sounded rather snobbish and the least perturbed with THE PUBLISHER spoke with him:

“This is rubbish and I have had enough of it. Fortunately, some of the persons behind this agenda have started confessing to us who their pay masters are and we are waiting for directions from our legal team before we swop on them. Believe me, we are fully monitoring and playing along for now.

“My Board and Management are helping make huge inroads here since we took over the NLA. Figures do not lie and the figures show that the cash we are generating for government and putting into the Consolidated Fund is unprecedented.

“Persons who are not happy that we are blocking loopholes and leakages in government revenue are bent on destroying our image and hard work. This is not about Osei-Ameyaw. It is about a mafia that is opposing the new changes in the NLA that has caused a blockage of revenue leakage”, Osei-Ameyaw noted.
