Blame Industry Woes On Actors – Socrate Sarfo
In the wake of the fallout from veteran actor, Kofi Adjorlolo’s comments about producers owing him and refusing to pay, many more players in the industry are speaking out about what they say are the real issues and one of them is film producer Socrate Safo.
For Socrate, while producers deserve some of the bashing for their actions, the blame should also be laid at the foot of the actors and actresses behaving unprofessionally in the Industry.
Speaking on United Showbiz, an entertainment show on UTV Ghana with Nana Ama McBrown, Socrate said it is by certain unprofessional behaviors of industry players that has brought the industry to its present state.
”It’s good and needful to speak the truth, the whole issue of this Industry falls under the carpet of our actors and actresses. If these people we fight for always refuse to work for any producer who don’t sign contracts, I am telling you we would have been on a better side.
”They are to be blame. They accept anything just like that. Sometimes they even go and beg for the roles, how then do you expect good treatment from these producers. They won’t take you serious. They should value themselves and have respect upon their works.” he said.
In answer to how the industry can get back its glory, Socrate said: “We just have to go back to the drawing board and strategise. This industry has lots of prospects and we should be able to take advantage of it.”
Socrate Safo is the head of Move Africa Productions and has to his credit movies such as Hot Fork, Love and Sex, Sexy Angel and God Is Wicked.
