Boy, 14, dies in pit

THE BONTESO township near Nkawie in the Ashanti Region, was thrown into sad scenes when a 14 year old boy got drowned in a deep pit, filled with water.

THE NEW PUBLISHER has learned that Abdulai Fauzan, as usual, decided to swim in the deep pit and have fun on Saturday. But he sadly got drowned whilst in the pit.

An alarmed was raised as some Good Samaritans risked their lives to retrieve the 14 year old boy from the pit, but it was too late as he had already given up the ghost.

A police statement from the Nkawie District, confirming the depressing case, disclosed that the body has since been deposited in the morgue for preservation and autopsy.

According to the police, they were reliably informed that a 14 year old boy had been drowned in a deep pit so they (police) quickly rushed to the crime scene to check.

The police said indeed they (police) found the boy lying on the ground in supine position, wearing multi coloured Lacoste T- shirt with a pair of black jeans trousers.

The police then thoroughly checked the body to check if there was a mark to determine foul play, but no marks of violence was found on the lifeless body of the young boy.
