Boy, 7, Kills Brother With Dad’s Gun

An eight-year-old boy has accidentally killed seven year old brother with their father’s gun in the presence of their three year old sister.

The horror happened on Saturday at Manso/Datano in the Amansie South District of the Ashanti Region.

The two boys were playing with the loaded gun when one of them pulled the trigger and blew open the head of the other, killing him instantly.

The body of the deceased has been deposited at the St. Martin’s Hospital at Manso/Agroyesum, while their father, aged 44, is in the grips of the police.

James Amedze, father of the two and his wife, Margaret Ahenkan, were said to have left to their Cocoa farm to work on that fateful day.

Whilst leaving, they left behind their three children, two boys, ages 8 and seven, and a girl, who is three years old.

Immediately the parents had left, the 8-year old boy went for his father’s long gun, hidden behind a long chair so they could play with it.

The two children were said to be playing with the gun when suddenly the 8-year-old pulled the trigger.

Since the 7-year-old boy was standing close to the gun, his head was instantly blown apart, as his brains gushed.

The police has since arrested the father for negligence, which has led to the loss of a precious human life.

The minor suspect, the police report said, was also picked up by the police to brief them what exactly happened.
