Brighten Your World Empowers Children At Gomoa Mankoadze

Children of Gomoa Mankoadze, Bewadze, Otsew Onyaadze, Amenfi and Oguan, all in the Gomoa West District of the Central Region, have benefited from an intensive training programme during this long vacation period.  

The programme, organized at the instance of a philanthropist, and founder of Brighten Your World, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), Mrs. Vida Graham Acquaah, was a three weeks intensive classes for them. interestingly, the package came with free lunch for the children.

The kids were taught by well-resourced teachers from the University of Education Winneba under the group’s annual Summer Success Camp programme. They were taken through subjects such as English Mathematics, Computer Studies, Reading, Poems, Drama, Arts and Crafts.

Mrs. Acquaah, who had already been organizing free Saturday classes for these children, from Crèche to the Junior High School (JHS), with lunch, says she is poised to raise standard of education in the Gomao Districts, because according to her, “Child Education is my Priority”.

The philanthropist urged parents of the children to make it a habit to give their support to the program by supervising their children and encouraging them to work hard in school.

At the end of the camp, the children demonstrated their skills in drama, choreography and poetry recital performances, while Arts and Crafts works learned during the camp were also put on display.

As a form of motivation, awards were given to children who excelled in the various disciplines. Chiefs, Opinion Leaders, Pastors, and representatives from the District Education Office were present at the ceremony.

This year’s programme is dubbed ‘Learn and Have Fun’.
