Buokrom Gets Modern Hospital
THE HEALTHCARE of thousands of residents of Buokrom, in the Manhyia North Constituency, in Kumasi and the nearby communities, has been greatly enhanced.
A modern medical facility, dubbed the ‘Buokrom Community Hospital’ has been commissioned in the densely-populated area to help provide healthcare for the people.
The hospital boasts of modern amenities such as a theater room and ultra-modern machines that can be used to treat ailments of all types, that is troubling the residents of the area.
The Buokrom Community Hospital is owned by Nana Dr. Kusi Appiah and it is managed by the Planned Health Ghana, a Non Governmental Organization, which supports deprived community hospitals.
Dr. Oppong Peprah, Medical Director of the Buokrom Community Hospital and CEO of Planned Health Ghana, said the commissioning of the hospital would make healthcare readily available to the people.
He said that the hospital accepts the National Health Insurance Card holders, adding that the hospital can also boasts of 50 beds and qualified doctors and nurses to properly treat patients.
Dr. Peprah said as part of the opening of the hospital, a free health screening exercise was organized for about 1,000 people, who were screened in ailments such as diabetes, hypertension, among others.
He also said the Buokrom Community Hospital also registered 600 people in the community with the National Health Insurance Scheme freely, adding that his facility has more to offer.
