Thirty-four (34)students of the Redemption School Complex at Bawjiase in the Awutu Senya West municipality of the Central region could not take part in the first two papers of the ongoing Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
This follows the inability of the proprietor of the school Afrane Mensah to successfully register the final year students for the ongoing exams despite payment by the students for the said exams.
The visibly distraught 34 students were sacked from the center by the authorities manning the exams as no provision had been made for them to take part in the exams.
Meanwhile, parents of the affected students have also threatened legal action against the proprietor of the school if their wards are not allowed to sit for the papers.
However, the Public Relations Officer for the Ghana Education Service in the central region Mr. Smart Tawiah said the directorate is yet to be notified about the development and that the directorate will take steps to address it if they get are notified.
