CAF Invites Kotoko Over Sponsors Logo
OFFICIALS OF Kumasi Asante Kotoko will emplane to the CAF headquarters in Egypt in the coming days, it has been announced.
CAF has invited the Ghana representatives for the Africa Confederation Cup Tournament for a crunch meeting.
The urgent meeting is being called to help resolve a seeming misunderstanding due to Kotoko’s intention to use their sponsor’s logo on their jersey.
The next year’s Africa Confederation Cup is being sponsored by TOTAL, which is a giant in the petroleum industry.
Incidentally, Kotoko is also being sponsored by GOIL, which is also a heavyweight in the petroleum sector.
This let to some form of confusion with regards to whether Kotoko can use GOIL’s logo in a competition being sponsored by TOTAL.
Thomas Boakye Agyeman, a top member in Kotoko, said CAF had agreed to jerseys that Kotoko would use for the tournament, but hinted that the confederation had invited Kotoko to Egypt to talk further about the issue.
