Campaign on your achievements …Otumfuo advises Nana

PRESIDENT NANA Akufo-Addo has been advised to preach about positive policies he has implemented to boost national growth to help him win more votes in the December elections.

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, who gave the advice, said the New Patriotic Party (NPP) should carefully explain its achievements for the electorates to understand them.

“I will urge you to campaign on what you have been able to achieve so far in political office to the electorates, ahead of the elections”, the Asante Monarch stated.

The occasion was a meeting of the Asanteman Traditional Council, held at the Manhyia Palace, which coincided with the visit of President Nana Akufo-Addo to the palace.

The President, who was accompanied by top members of his government, was at the palace to seek the support and blessings of Asanteman, ahead of the December 7 polls.

The Asantehene, who was presiding over the meeting of the Asanteman Traditional Council, said the elections would be decided by the achievements of the parties.

He commended President Akufo-Addo for always consulting him (Otumfuo) for wise counsel on some pressing national issues, and urged him to sustain it.

“You always visit this palace whenever you are in Kumasi to check out how I am faring and sometimes you do contact me on phone for advice, keep it up”, he said.

Otumfuo twice repeated that “Your good works would lead you”, pointing out that the people of Asanteman would cast their ballot based on the performance of the parties.

The Asantehene said he would indeed pray for President Akufo-Addo just as he (Nana Addo) has requested from him, adding that God would protect him in his travels.
