Car Thief Caged At Konongo
A NOTORIOUS car thief at Konongo in the Ashanti Region has been apprehended by the police at Tafo Pankrono, a suburb of Kumasi.
Gibril Saeed Mohammed stole a Hyundai Grace mini-van, which was parked at the Akrantiebesa Lorry Station at Konongo.
According to police sources, the place was very quiet at 4am on Monday, so Mohammed, an ex-convict, took advantage of the serene environment to steal the car. But unfortunately for him and his accomplice, one Awudu, who is currently at large, the car was involved in an accident.
A police report in possession of the paper indicated that the vehicle destroyed some items at the Tafo Market.
Upon interrogation, Mohammed told the Tafo Pankrono police that he stole the vehicle from Konongo.
Meanwhile, the Konongo police have confirmed that one Daniel Kwabena Agyapong reported of his missing mini-van on Monday morning.
Both Mohammed and the ‘stolen vehicle’ have since been rent back to Konongo, where the police are investigating the case.
