The 7th edition of Central Music Awards will come off Wednesday, December 26 (Boxing Day) at the Centre for National Culture (CNC) in Cape Coast.
The award scheme organised by Heritage Entertainment with sponsorship from some of the industry stakeholders is the biggest event in the Central Region aimed at recognising the contributions of hardworking and outstanding Musicians in the region.
Earlier in the year, nominations were opened for musicians to file for the various categories.
Later, a nominees’ jam was held at Agona Swedru to give musicians the platform to interact with their fans ahead of the main ceremony of December 26, 2018.
This year’s Awards will witness additional categories such as Gospel Artiste of the year, Hip Life song of the year, Hip hop song of the year, Dancehall and Reggae songs of the year.
A number of performing artistes who hail from the region have been invited to perform at the event alongside some of the nominees and guest artiste.The red carpet and cocktail event will be hosted by one of Ghana’s celebrities.
In an interview, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Heritage Entertainment, Mani Kay, said this year’s event promises to be more competitive than the previous one.
Since its establishment seven years ago, the awards scheme has grown to be the most anticipated awards scheme on the entertainment calendar in the Central Region.
According to him, a lot of packages have been put in place to make this year’s event a memorable one.
Mani Kay added that CMA is being organised to reward artistes, music stakeholders and other personalities in the region who have contributed immensely towards the music industry in the region and in Ghana.
Some of the previous winners were Teephlow, Mikey GH, Orkortor Perry and eShun.
