Chelsea Star Ditches Kotoko
KUMASI ASANTE Kotoko’s hopes of landing Berekum Chelsea midfielder, Moro Briamah, have hit the rocks.
Even though initial indications strongly suggested that management of Berekum Chelsea was prepared to release the player to don the red jersey for next season, the nimble-footed player, from his actions, seemed not enthused in committing his future with the Kumasi-based club.
The player’s attitude has therefore prevented Kotoko from concluding a deal for his release, Yaw Boafo, Kotoko’s Lawyer, has stated.
He said Kotoko had done everything within their power to lure Briamah but the player still seemed unmoved.
“Kotoko management has settled on contractual terms with our colleagues at Berekum Chelsea for the release of the player. Briamah was then supposed to come to Kumasi for medicals but he has persistently refused to come”, he said.
Boafo further revealed that another striker from Salamina FC, a lover division club, Obeng Junior, has also turned his back on the Porcupine Warriors.
He said just as the situation with Moro Braimah, Kotoko and Obeng’s employers reached a deal for his release but the player seemed not interested.
He flatly debunked rumours that Kotoko management had been imposing players on Coach Steve Polack.
According to him, the expatriate trainer first recommends players that he wants in his team before management does any follow up.
