Nana Kwame Arhin IV, the Mankrado of Gomoa Manso, has appealed to the Government and all stakeholders to help provide a modern health centre in the area.
He said Gomoa Manso has a population of 49,000 people and surrounded by 12 communities, but it is currently being catered for by a single Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound with only one hospital bed.
Nana Arhin made the appeal in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Gomoa Manso in the Gomoa Central District of the Central Region.
Mr Isaac Kobina Baidoo, the assembly member for Gomoa Manso Electoral Area, said the community has built a four-bedroom attached to the CHPS compound and this could be used for a clinic.
He pleaded with the health authorities to prevail on the managers of the CHPS compound to accept patients with the National Health Insurance cards as this would greatly alleviate their financial woes.
