CHIEF JUSTICE TACKLES ASSEMBLIES

THE CHIEF Justice, Sophia Akufo, has tasked District, Municipal and Metropolitan Assemblies to champion the development of their areas since, according to her, assemblies were specifically created to be agents of positive change and transformation.

Speaking during the grand opening of a new District Court at Asokore Mampong near Kumasi recently, Sophia Akufo showered tons of praises on the MCE of Asokore Mampong, Hon. Alidu Seidu, for work he had done so far, particularly regarding roles that he played towards getting a new court building constructed in the district.

“This is a mark of a good leader. Your MCE is development-oriented person and he deserves praises.

“I was here last year and your court building was bad and he promised to help construct a new one here. And in just one year he has fulfilled his promise. This is what assemblies and their leaders should always do.

“They need to work as agents of development and I am impressed with this MCE”, she stated in public, stressing that she wished other MCEs will do same.
