Choose your spouse over your family – Counsellor

A relationship Counsellor Rev. D.Y. Donkor has advised couples to always choose their partners first before their family when they are confronted with the two.

He says it’s better to protect your spouse’s image rather than denigrate him/her to your family no matter the circumstance.

Rev. D.Y Donkor made this known while speaking on OKAY FM.

“In marriage choose your spouse first before your family. When there are issues, try your best to address them with your spouse and not your family members. You don’t have to denigrate your spouse to the parents because it will make him/her lose respect in the sight of your family,” he said.

During difficult times in marriage, Counsellor D.Y.Donkor indicated that it’s imperative that spouses do not run away because they are part of the marriage.

“Never run away from your marriage because of difficult times. Challenges are part of every marriage and every relationship. If your husband loses his job, be there for him because life is not smooth sailing,” he said.
