The 2019 edition of Accra Music Expo, a Ga music concert, will be held tonight, March 16, 2019 at the forecourt of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly.
The Accra Music Expo is a special event focused on celebrating and promoting indigenous Ga music.
This year’s programme features Ga music ensemble Dromo Naa, Afro-soul artiste Cina Soul, ‘Gyata Bi’ singer Adane Best and the Evergreen Dance Band.
In previous years, highlife giants like Paapa Yankson, Adane Best, Pat Thomas, Nana Kwame Ampadu, Okyeame Kwame, Samuel Owusu and the Ramblers International Band have all featured on the Accra Music Expo show.
The Accra Music Expo would be a precursor to Citi FM’s Music of Ghanaian Origin (MOGO) which takes place on March 23, 2019 at the National Theatre.
This is part of Citi FM’s annual Heritage Month programme which is held in March to promote the Ghanaian heritage and culture.
Heritage Month is marked with an eight-day road trip of Ghana dubbed Heritage Caravan (which started on 2nd March and ended on 8th March), on-air series on the history and dynamic cultures of Ghana, Music of Ghanaian Origin (MOGO) Concert and Accra Music Expo that celebrates indigenous Ga music.
The concert is organised by Citi FM and Citi TV in collaboration with the Accra Metropolitan Assembly.
The programme starts at 6pm.
This event is strictly by invitation.
Citi FM’s Heritage Month is sponsored by Freight Consult.
