Coach Appiah To Rotate Black Stars Captaincy
THE SENIOR National Team, the Black Stars, is considering a new policy of rotating its captain during games, very soon.
Ghana Head Coach, Akwasi Appiah, who made the disclosure, stated that the new move would greatly benefit the team.
He stated that he had realized that maintaining one player as captain during games, has the tendency of creating troubles.
Akwasi Appiah, who is a former Black Stars Skipper, insisted that he is convinced that the rotation of the captaincy would help.
“Rotating the Black Stars captaincy, for me, can help bring team unity and cohesion, which is crucial in winning games.
“The policy will also help motivate the players, especially the player wearing the captain’s band on the day, to deliver as expected”.
Akwasi Appiah therefore said it is likely that he will introduce the rotation of Black Stars captain during games very soon to boost team performance.
Five times world champions, the Selecao of Brazil, is on record to have started the rotation of captains during games just recently.
