Coach Nurudeen Amadu Resigns from FC Samartex

Coach Nurudeen Amadu has stepped down as head coach of FC Samartex. Reports indicate that Amadu’s departure came by “mutual consent” after just 13 matches in the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season.

The defending champions are enduring a poor run of form, having lost three consecutive matches in the league and been eliminated from the MTN FA Cup following a 2-0 defeat to rivals Bibiani GoldStars SC.

FC Samartex currently sits 10th in the standings with 17 points.

FC Samartex make a trip to face Bechem United in their next encounter.

Assistant coach Henry Wellington will take charge temporarily until a substantive appointment is made.

Amadu joined the club in July 2023 and led them to the maiden Premier League title last season.

The feat propelled them into the CAF Champions League preliminary stage but got eliminated by Raja Casablanca in the second round.
