COCOBOD denies laying off workers

Management of the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) has denied reports suggesting that thousands of it’s staff are likely be laid off early next year.

The said reports made reference to the cocoa production declining as reason for the massive layoff.

But management of the firm in a memo refuted the claims of the report suggesting that it is an evil agenda to take the public’s eye off the gains made by the current management since taking over office.

“Management of COCOBOD has taken notice of a report online falsely alleging that Management is considering a mass layoff of staff on account of declining cocoa production in the country.

“Management wishes to state categorically, that the allegation and the reasons mentioned in the report are outright lies, fabricated by person seeking to create disaffection for Management, and deflect the attention of the general public from the several laudable initiatives introduced by Management, which are transforming the cocoa industry” part of the memo reads.
