The Asantehene Otumfuo, Osei Tutu II, has promised to support Government’s effort to promote cocoa processing and consumption to help realize the full potential of the industry.
Otumfuo said this when the Chief Executive of COCOBOD, Hon Joseph Boahen Aidoo, led a delegation to pay a courtesy call on him at the Manhyia Palace, last Friday, February 11, as part of activities to mark the National Chocolate Week celebrations.
The 2022 edition of the National Cocoa Week has a lineup of activities from February 12 to 22 under the theme: “Eat chocolate, stay healthy, grow Ghana” with the sub-theme: “Our chocolate, our health, our wealth”
It is aimed at promoting domestic consumption of locally made chocolate and other cocoa products, as it highlights the health benefits of cocoa and the economic potential of the cocoa value chain.
As part of the event, there will also be a cocoa health walk, a float, a donation, a durbar and exhibition, a movie premiere, family day out, music concert, among others.
