THE RULING New Patriotic Party (NPP) has, once again, showed clear signs that it is ready to win the 2024 presidential and parliamentary polls in order to ‘break the eight years’ political cycle in the country.
This follows a mammoth crowd of party members and supporters that attended a five kilometers health walk, dubbed ‘Break the 8’, which started from Afrancho to Kodie in the Affigya Kwabre South Constituency.
The Saturday morning party programme, organized by the NPP executives in Affigya Kwabre South Constituency, was organized to help re-energize the party’s support base and structures, towards attracting more people into the party.
The crowd that attended the health walk was so huge that they virtually caused massive vehicular traffic on the main Kumasi to Offinso highway during the programme. The security men worked hard to contain the swelling crowd.
Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah aka ‘COKA’, who was the Special Guest for the event, said the NPP could not afford to disappoint Ghanaians, stressing that the NPP is the best political party to lead the state into affluence.
According to COKA, who is a former NPP Chairman for Affigya Kwabre South Constituency, the citizenry have seen the splendid works of President Nana Akufo-Addo’s government therefore they have strong hope in the NPP.
“That is why I said Ghanaians would not forgive us (NPP) if we disappoint them by failing to break the eight-year rule in political office in 2024”, COKA, who recently lost narrowly in the Ashanti Regional NPP Chairmanship race, said.
According to him, despite the economic downturn in the world now, occasioned by Covid-19 and the Russia-Ukraine war, the President Nana Akufo-Addo’s NPP government has “still delivered on its campaign promises”.
COKA, however, expressed concern over the seeming lack of noise about the massive developmental projects embarked upon by the NPP administration, calling for more work to be done about the party’s communications.
“The government’s massive achievements should be made known to our grassroots members so that they can also explain it to people in their localities thereby helping us to maximize our votes in 2024”, COKA admonished.
