Patrons at this year’s Easter Comedy Show had an experience of a lifetime as kpororo (NG), Mpho Popps (SA), Senator (NG), Hogan (GH), Waris (GH) among others trilled patrons to release their stress off last night at the Accra International Conference Centre.
The event opened with a musical performance from the PatchBay band who set the tone for the night with a rendition of Papa Yankson and Paulina Oduro’s evergreen “tsena menkyen” record and other contemporary hits like Joromi from Simi and Too Late by Adina.
Then came the grand entry of MC for the night, Dr. OB Amponsah, the optometrist turned comedian and he set the comic ball rolling with some scintillating jokes that couldn’t stop the audience from laughing their hearts out.
And from then on, it was all laughter as comedian after comedian barraged the expectant audience with series of rib cracking jokes.
It was never a night of happiness and a true worth of money as these wonderful cast of comedians fully served audience the full doses of comedy prescriptions. Indeed people laughed their sorrows and troubles away.
Aside the comic action was music performers from Kidi and Akwaboah. They sent the crowd in frenzy as they treated them to authentic Ghanaian high life music with able support from the PatchBay band and Saxophonist, Mr. Okyere had his A-game on as he dazzled with his saxophone version of Gasmila’s Telemo and late Ebony’s Hustle.
Among the numerous celebraties that were present were TV personality Nana Aba Anamoah, Serwaa Amihere, actress Ama K. Abebresse, Eliken de Tailor, blogger George Britton and many others.
