Cop Gets Bail Over Lover’s Death

SERGEANT BRIGHT Opoku Yeboah, a suspect in the bizarre death of his girlfriend, Vida Frema, has been granted bail because autopsy reports indicated that the former tutor of Kumasi Girls Senior High School died as a result of hanging.

The Sergeant would, however, continue to report to the Ashanti Regional Police Command for further action, the paper is aware.

“An autopsy report has indicated cause of death as hanging”, the Deputy Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Fred Adu Anim, has said.

In a press release issued to the media, the deputy police chief said investigations conducted so far suggest that Sgt. Yeboah of the Konongo Division left Frema at home on Monday morning for work.

According to him, the officer returned from work the same day around 4pm to see his girlfriend hanging in his bedroom dead.

DCOP Adu Anim said there is suspicion that Frema might have drunk some poisonous chemical before hanging herself.

He said to establish the veracity of that suspicion, some stomach content from the deceased has been sent to the Ghana Standards Authority for further analytical test”.
