Coronavirus has made people fear God – Joe Mettle
Award-winning Ghanaian gospel musician, Joe Mettle, has said the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has brought a sense of awakening in people to see God as the giver of all life in the universe.
The gospel musician was speaking on the Ayeeko Ayeeko show on Accra100.5FM on Friday, 10 April 2020.
Speaking on the impact of the pandemic on how human beings relate to God and how world leaders are now relying on God to see them through this era, the ‘Bo noo ni’ hitmaker told show host Nana Romeo that: “I think a caustic awakening. A caustic revival, where lots of people, sometimes, lived their lives thinking that they had a job, they had money, and, so, they owned their lives, their lives were in their hands sort of, but now, even if you have money, the pandemic has caused fear and panic. There’s a lockdown, so, whether or not you have money or you have things, you can’t use it for anything. You’re home until everything is lifted for you to now go back to normal life.
“It’s brought an awakening to people and made them realise that without God, the life we’re living, would be meaningless. All the things that we have, they are vanity, they help make our lives better but then they’re not supposed to be all that we live for”, he said.
