Court Awards Tic Tac GHS300k Against Melcom

Hip-life artiste, Nana Kweku Duah, known in showbiz as Tic Tac, has been awarded GHS300,000.00 as compensation against Melcolm Limited by an Accra Human Rights High Court for illegally using his images for promotion.

He took to his Facebook page on Friday, 17 November to announce the verdict by the court.



The musician sued the company for breach of contract after Melcom continued to use his image, after his two-year contract with them ended in May 31, 2011, for advertising purposes.

He had told Accra100.5FM’s Nana Romeo on the Ayekoo Ayekoo midmorning show back in September that: “They were still using my images after my contract had ended, and, so, I sued them.

“I wrote them a letter drawing their attention to the fact that my contract had elapsed before suing and so it is not as if I have a deal with you and out of the blue, I sue you in court.”
