The Asamankese Magistrate Court presided over by His Worship Charles Wiafe had sentenced a 24 year old man for stealing ten liters of palm oil valued at Gh¢200.00.
Shaibu Dome, the accused, pleaded guilty to the charge and was convicted on his own plea.
Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Emmanuel Ato Gand the complainant is a palm oil distiller at GCD camp in Akwatia whilst accused also resides in Zongo-Akwatia.
He said the accused was arrested upon tip off on 3-11-2018 after he stoled two gallons of the palm oil and decided to sale it but was nabbed in his attempt.
In a caution statement, the accused denied stealing the oil from GCD camp and said he bought it from a friend who loads Palm oil for whole sellers at Akyem Wenchi but police interrogations exposed him of being a liar.
The police however caged him in their custody and later sent to court for prosecution.
