Court Sets Bail for Obengfo CEO July 27
An Accra High Court presided over by Justice Kofi Dorgu has set 27 July to rule on a bail application submitted by Dr Dominic Obeng-Andoh, CEO of Advance Body Sculpt Centre also known as Obengfo Hospital.
Jonathan Dzaisu, lawyer for Dr Obeng-Andoh, argued on Thursday, 21 June 2018 that his client is willing to appear before the court anytime he is invited. He said his client is sick and needs medical attention hence the application for the bail.
Dr Obeng-Andoh is in court in connection with the death of the Deputy CEO of the National Entrepreneurship Innovation Programme (NEIP), Stacy Offei-Darko, who died at his facility a few weeks ago under what her family described as strange circumstances.
However, the lawyers explained that the deceased had been visiting the facility since 2014. He said she had undergone a successful surgery and passed on during the recovery process.
State prosecutor, Ashong Okine, however, opposed the bail application and maintained that the facility is still in operation and expressed fear that he may go back to commit a similar offence.
