An application filed by lawyer of the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, seeking to dismiss some charges preferred against him by the State has been dismissed.
Lawyer Tony Lithur earlier filed a case at the law court arguing that, the second charge preferred against his client (NDC) be dropped.
But in the hearing of Justice Samuel Asiedu, he dismissed the charges stating that, they are grounded in law hence not fatal. He then adjourned the case to the 8th of July for full trial to begin.
Charges
NDC’s Ofosu Ampofo and Deputy Director of Communication, Anthony Kwaku Boahen being accused have been slapped with Conspiracy to cause harm.
Ofosu Ampofo is additionally facing two counts charge of assault against a public officer.
Bail
The court presided over by Justice Samuel Asiedu granted the two accused persons bail in the sum of GH¢100,000 with one surety each some months ago.
The judge also in his hearing first day at court ordered the prosecution to furnish the accused with all the documents and tapes they intend to rely on for the trial.
