There is gross indiscipline in some major road networks in Kumasi, the capital of the Ashanti Region, lately as stray cattle have been causing nuisance on some major roads thereby causing worrying moments for drivers and commuters.
These stray cattle have been often spotted roaming about on some roads, leading to massive vehicular traffic in the process.
On Monday, The New Publisher saw a number of stray cattle at Dichemso, near the Naana Boakye Dankwa area.
Sadly, the cattle had stopped in the middle of the road, and as a result all vehicles plying on the busy road at the time had to stop.
The stray cattle and their owners seemed not bothered of the discomfort they were creating for road users as they moved in and out of the roads for several hours disrupting traffic flow in the process.
Eventually, one of the disturbed drivers mustered courage as he alighted from his car and used a huge stick to chase the cattle.
The heroic action of the driver paved the way for traffic to flow once again. Other drivers were seen praising the ‘hero’ driver.
Some of the drivers lambasted the city authorities for not maintaining discipline and orderliness in the boisterous city in recent times.
According to them, stray cattle have been spotted roaming in the major streets of Kumasi severally, posing danger to road users.
