CPP Begins Re-Registration of Members

The Convention People’s Party (CPP) is re-registering all its members to enable the party to track its loyal and committed members who are ready to work for the party’s victory in the 2020 election.

The reorganisation and re-registration exercise, which begun last Friday, saw the National Chairman and leader of the party, Professor Edmund Delle, re-registering as a platinum member.

He was followed by some executives of the party, including Mr B.K. Senkyere, a Council of Elders member, as well as a number of party youth who were spearheading the re-registration exercise to bring more youth into the fold of the party.

The 2020 election

To enable registered members to sacrifice more for the party and become self-reliant, the membership has been categorised into platinum, gold, silver, bronze and ordinary members, with platinum members paying GH¢1,000 while the ordinary members pay GH¢50 or less as their monthly contribution for the party to win the 2020 election.

Speaking to the press after re-registering, Prof. Delle reiterated the need for the true Nkrumaists to join the party fold.

He explained that the re-registration would guarantee that all genuine Nkrumaists were not left behind in the reorganisation exercise.

He declared that: ‘‘There will be no more internal elections fraught with fake membership cards,’’ which has dampened the spirit of some blue streak members who wanted to contest internal party elections.

Homecoming

Prof. Delle, therefore, called on party members who left because of what happened in the party in the past to join in the homecoming and reconciliation process currently underway.

He explained that the party was currently, in conjunction with the Women’s League of the party, in the process of reorganising at the constituency level.

He said the launching of the membership registration marked the beginning of the party’s march towards wrestling power in the 2020 election.

He added that the biometric registration would help the party to check those who used fake membership cards during internal party elections, as well as recognise committed members who would vote for the CPP during national elections.

He said it was the re-organisation and sacrifices of members that, this time around, would well resource the CPP for a better performance in national elections without looking elsewhere for funds to run the party.

He noted that the Women’s League, with the assistance of the leadership of the party, was also printing over 10,000 T-shirts for distribution to the youth in the party as part of the visibility programme of the party at the constituency level to enable people to know that the party was still in existence and not in comatose.

I love CPP

The National Women Organiser of CPP, Hajia Ayisha Futa, said the party was currently engaging students in the tertiary institutions to educate them to join the party.
